I got 99 problems but fitness ain't one!
Be honest... did you just sing that in your best Jay-Z voice?
Let me ask you something, do you know what the difference between an achiever, someone who is crushing it in life, reaching their goals and making their dreams happen – and someone who simply is NOT?
The difference is action. The difference is not who they are, their race, upbringing, goals, careers, family, friends, education, body type or anything else you can think of. The difference is ACTION. We’ve all heard remarkable tales of success from incredibly painful experience, backgrounds and odds yet they pulled through and “made it”. Action makes all the difference. When you set a goal – take action.
And it’s ESSENTIAL to take action... IMMEDIATELY!
Why?
Because the longer you wait, the more the cool down factor takes place, and before you know it you're right back where you were, unmotivated and unwilling to go for your dreams with relentless pursuit!
It's like the age old question "does motivation last?” No, and I like the way the late Zig Ziglar puts it’s “no, but neither does bathing, and that's why it's recommended daily.”
In fact, some of you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about because sometimes while reading a chapter from this very book you feel ready to take on the world. A chapter may make you feel full of energy and life again, but dang, by the next day you’re back in the pits.
Feeling good is NOT good enough - Action is required.
None the less, I came across this article by Chris McCombs and Chris has been kind enough to allow me to share it. You can view more of his material by visiting http://chrismccombs.net/.
Oh, I should note that it has some inappropriate language in it. There are a few F-Bombs in here. You've been warned. If it hurts, don't read it.
41 Reasons To Train Today

http://chrismccombs.net/41-reasons-to-train-today/
- Because not training is saying “F*ck you” to your body and your life
- You’ll be that much closer to turning into your childhood hero
- Because Jack Lalanne would be proud ( RIP Jack )
- Because you do not want to be one of those people who don’t train, do you? That’s no way to live.
- Because it’s just plain the safest way possible for you to get rid of all that pent-up aggression you have. Trust me, just take it out on the iron, it’s best for everyone involved.
- Because you wouldn’t skip out on brushing your teeth today would you? ewwwww… same thing
- Because you need to keep the commitment to yourself. Breaking this commitment is detrimental to your self-esteem as well as your future
- If you don’t, you’re gonna get weaker, fatter and uglier.
- If you don’t, somewhere deep inside you’ll hate yourself for it
- It’s the best, natural anti-depressant the world has to offer
- Cuz you’re one sexy mother f*cker when you train and you know it
- You’re carving out a better existence for yourself
- Cuz you’re not gonna puss out are ya?
- Because you’ll be more productive and effective with the rest of your time today. Training saves time. The excuse “I don’t have time to train” is just a lie people tell themselves because they don’t wanna train and aren’t committed to it
- You’ll feel better
- It trumps Xanax for relieving stress and anxiety
- It makes you crave healthy foods… so you’ll probably eat good today too
- It’s a great escape from your problems. Yeah, I know, you have a shitload of them right now. It’s ok, just get your ass in the gym and train. Once you start hitting it those problems will cease to exist
- Training sets you up for success in all areas of your life
- It beats any kind of therapy on the planet hands down
- Because it’s the only workout you need to do today. Just one.
- Because thinking about it is so much harder than just f*cking doing it
- Cuz you’re just gonna go in and do a few light sets today, that’s it, it’ll be a breeze. I’ve been using that lie to get my ass in the gym for years and it works… within 10 minutes I’m training my ass off, every single time.
- Training makes you more confident.
- You’ll like yourself more
- You’ll sleep better
- You’ll have more energy
- You’ll be able to better protect yourself and those you love should some unexpected shit go down.
- You’ll age better. Seen old people who train? Cool huh? … Seen old people who don’t?
- You’ll have more sex, better sex and most likely with better looking people
- You get the opportunity to be walking, talking inspiration
- You’re ALWAYS glad you trained
- It’s fun. Sometimes.
- Cuz it’s much more fun than the treadmill. The treadmill sucks
- Because it’s squat day, that’s why
- Because you know when you stop training, it all goes to shit
- Because life is 100x better when you train ( I’ve tried to get through without it, and trust me, it sucks )
- Because right now there’s some paralyzed mother f*cker confined to a hospital bed just wishing he could train. You owe it to that dude to give it all you fucking got today.
- Because you owe it to YOURSELF to train today
- Because you can
- Cuz it’s gotta be done
Case. F*cking. Closed.
Like I said, it's got some rough language and some of the points are, well, out there, but some hit home, some hit deep, some make you think to yourself "man, I need to drop the excuses and get to the gym".
Well, that's it for today. A nice, simple, and easy to read chapter!
Don’t ever forget, your challenges in life are designed to make you better, not bitter. You’ve got everything you’ll ever need to achieve already inside of you, now go out and make it happen.
To your success,
Al
