Hope Dealer

Hope Dealer

Are you a HOPE DEALER?

This one's short and sweet with some thoughts on hope.

For a long time I believed that if more people had hope that their lives would be drastically improved.

I'm a big fan of John C Maxwell and his books, and in many of his books he talks about being a HOPE dealer.

And I believed that's all it took was hope.

I thought to myself “if I could show people that there's hope, they’d do what needs to be done”.

I run into so many people that...

A Little Rant

A Little Rant

Warning – this is a late-night rant.

I guess by the time I'm done typing it'll be an early morning rant!

Sometimes I wonder if I should tell people what they "want to hear" as oppose to what they NEED to hear.

Heck, it would make my job WAY easier!

I mean, I don't think it often - but when I do, it's usually after I hear something like "I want to lose weight, but there's no way I'm changing my diet", or "I want to lose weight but I'm not eating any vegetables." or...

Don’t Miss It

Don't dismiss the ol' Pareto Principle or you might end up selling yourself short.

I've got a question for you...

Who's the most important person in the world TO YOU?

So, who is it? Who matters most?

I know, many of you are quite smart and know the answer to that question should be “ME”, or "I AM!".

I mean, I get it, I'm a husband, so sometimes we're quick to say "my wife is!". I'm also a parent and trust me I'd do anything for my kids and yes, they are the most important...

99 Problems

99 Problems

I got 99 problems but fitness ain't one!

Be honest... did you just sing that in your best Jay-Z voice?

Let me ask you something, do you know what the difference between an achiever, someone who is crushing it in life, reaching their goals and making their dreams happen – and someone who simply is NOT?

The difference is action. The difference is not who they are, their race, upbringing, goals, careers, family, friends, education, body type or anything else you can think of. The difference is ACTION. We’ve all heard remarkable tales of success from incredibly...

Complacency

com·pla·cen·cy

[kuhm-pley-suhn-see]

noun, plural com·pla·cen·cies.

a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like; self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition, etc.

For those who don't know, motorcycles are a big passion of mine, especially dirt bikes. Usually, my dad and I sign up for a half a dozen or so Enduro (cross country) races every summer.

At the time of the original writing of this chapter my dad was waiting for surgery, so my riding partner was out of commission for the summer....
